Age UK Islington
Video Production & Community Storytelling
Produced 7-video series translating complex community services into accessible content for seniors, caregivers, and healthcare partners across London.
Age UK Islington needed to address critical barriers in service adoption:
New clients had limited understanding of available services/events, creating stigma and low engagement.
Information existed primarily in text-heavy formats (PDFs, brochures), lacking accessible visual testimonials.
No systematic video content library to support year-round campaigns.
THE CHALLENGE
I designed and executed an end-to-end video production workflow from scratch, producing 7 videos in 8 weeks:
Conducted field research: Visited community events and services to understand programs firsthand.
Stakeholder interviews: Interviewed volunteers, event managers, internal staff, and clients to capture authentic stories.
Content development: Drafted interview questions, scripts, and video proposals aligned with Age UK's brand values.
Production coordination: Managed filming across 10+ community partners including food banks, sports centers, and health programs.
Ethical storytelling: Navigated client privacy concerns while featuring authentic voices to reduce stigma.
MY APPROACH
The video series established a scalable content framework with measurable outcomes:
Published 2 videos as part of active campaigns (Let's Talk, Multi-Sports videos for Move for Mood Campaign & Great Mental Health Day)
Created 7+ reusable content library supporting Age UK's 2026 monthly campaign strategy
Reduced barriers to service adoption by featuring authentic client testimonials
Established production workflow and ethical guidelines for future video content
RESULTS & IMPACT
Let's Talk: Monthly mental health education sessions featuring local GPs, city council representatives, and community organizations.
Mutli-Sports Get Togethers: Showcasing local community partners’ fitness and wellness programs for seniors.
Men's Health and Arsenal in the Community: Health education event for male caregivers featuring workshops and Arsenal stadium tour.
